Ronald Ventura: Quick Turn on Hyper Highways

Ronald Ventura: Quick Turn on Hyper Highways

Ronald Ventura: Quick Turn on Hyper Highways is one of the first preview exhibitions at the new spaces of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila. Co-curated by Patrick D. Flores and Ruel Caasi, the exhibition speaks to the desire for something new, dynamic, elegant, untethered and more through Ventura’s use of the iconography and materials of high-end hypercars. It is toward this dynamic and fresh new energy that Ventura created the images he has rendered: tigers and horses threaten to leap off the walls, the old masters are summoned and painted over, and ferocious chimeras roam about indoors and out.

The Metropolitan Museum of Manila (the M) endeavours to become a leading hub for modern and contemporary art by Filipino and international artists, as we move to the heart of the city. Established at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex in Manila in 1976, we continue our work at our new home in Bonifacio Global City with new spaces covering 3,000 sqm by envisioning a world where people of all walks of life appreciate the arts. Embracing art for all, it is our role to help Filipinos discover the creative spirit innate in us, to deepen the understanding of the role of the arts in everyone’s lives.

Regular viewing from Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4pm with morning and afternoon viewing batches. All are requested to register online at least a day before visiting the museum through this form. Entrance is free of charge.
