PORTRAITURE AND THE PHILIPPINE TERNO
Commissioned Paintings of Filipinas by Rafael del Casal
On the occasion of Ternocon’s second edition, we honor women who chose to be captured in the terno and the families of some of these women who made the decision to immortalize their loved ones in the terno. We also pay tribute to artists like Rafael del Casal, who have remained true to their art form in spite of its perceived anachronistic nature. Like the Philippine terno, they carry on headstrong to the present. (Gino Gonzales)
